On our way to Guemes Island, in the lovely San Juan Islands of Washington State, we stopped in Anacortes, like most everyone catching a ferry to any of the San Juans. We chose to try out Whidbey Coffee and see what they had to offer. The Customer service was excellent. Polite and attentive. Smiling and helpful. Today, Paper Tiger Coffee Roasters sponsored a trophy for the NW Unfinished Car Show. Despite the typical NW weather, the rides came in, the spectators arrived, and we had a blast. Coffee in hand, we walked up and down the aisles, looking over all of the entries in various states of completion. Whittling down the field, one by one, we made our decisions based more on personal preference than finite details, like in other shows. Well, we didn't take home a gold, but we did get a bronze! Our award winning coffee from the Roowad Coop in the Hayma region of Yemen scored well enough as a Single Origin Espresso to get us recognized.
